O'hare voicing his true opinions on planting the last Truffula seed.

Aloysius O'Hare (commonly referred to as O'Hare) is one of the main antagonists of Illumination's third feature film, The Lorax. He is the (implied) mayor of Thneedville and the Once-ler's successor of business. As a teenager, O'Hare got ideas for making money when he saw one of the billboard workers tearing down the Thneed Factory banner and wondered what "the next best thing" would be after the factory had to shut down for good.
Years passed, and O'Hare made a fortune selling air to Thneedville residents. He also said his business idea was to 'sell them something they could get for free,' feeding them the idea that nothing was interesting to be found outside Thneedville, hiding the truth, which Ted Wiggins later revealed.
Appearance[]
O'Hare has short, black hair styled in a bob cut with short bangs and black eyes. He has several wrinkles across his face, thick eyebrows, and a round, short nose. The film shows several times exactly how small O'Hare is compared to several other townspeople. He wears a silver business suit with a black belt and golden strap, a white tie, a blue shirt, and black shoes.
Role In Film[]
O'Hare is the main antagonist, which is proven several times throughout the film. He is represented by his anger, plots, and plans, including something as big as breaking into someone's house without permission.
As a teenager, O'Hare was inspired to create "the next best thing" while viewing a billboard for the then-closed Thneed factory. As an adult, he founded the O'Hare Air company and sold bottled air to the residents of Thneedville, turning him into a "zillionaire."
O'Hare's air company went to great lengths to keep the locals from leaving town, and finding out the alternative to his methods was to replant the Truffula trees. Because of that, Ted Wiggins made an enemy out of this so-called "elected hero" when the teen boy tried to get a real tree for the girl of his dreams.
Ted spoke for the trees (as though a part of the Lorax was within him) by tearing down the walls of the town to reveal the truth and showing the last tree seed as a start of many much-needed changes for the artificial town of Thneedville. O'Hare was angry and tried to get the citizens on his side, revealing his true nature by threatening to fire his delivery man Cy and singing that the Truffula seed should die. Through this, the residents of Thneedville saw O'Hare's true nature, and they impeached him by having him blasted off in a jet helmet.
It is unknown where or if O'Hare landed, as he was never seen or mentioned after his defeat. It is theorized that he landed in another town or even in the sections of the ruins behind the wall that were not covered with Truffula trees by the end of the film.
