The screen fades to black to reveal the title of the special. During the opening credits, we hear an instrumental piece of "Welcome Christmas" until screen fades to black.)

Act 1 Transcript Part 1 ("Welcome Christmas/Trim Up the Tree")[]

(Screen fades from black revealing the title once again as the camera flies down to the town square where the Whos And Sonic And Garfield stand around a giant Christmas tree and start to sing)

Who Chorus: ♪Fahoo forays, dahoo dorays. Welcome Christmas, bring your light. Fahoo forays, dahoo dorays. Welcome in the cold of night.♪

(Screen fades showing Whos carrying a big pine tree, while two Whos sled across)

♪Welcome Christmas, fahoo ramus. Welcome Christmas, dahoo damus, Welcome Christmas, while we stand. Heart to heart and hand in hand.♪

(We cut over to inside the Whos' house as they decorate the tree)

♪Trim up the tree with Christmas stuff like bingle balls, and whofoo fluff. Trim up the town with goowho gums and bizilbix and wums.♪

Male Chorus: ♪Trim every blessed window and trim every blessed door. Hang up whoboohoo bricks...♪

Who Chorus: ♪Then run out and get some more!♪

♪Hang pantookas on the ceilings, pile pankunas on the floor!♪

(The Jack-in-the-box springs open, and it puts the star on top.)

Female Chorus: ♪Trim every blessed needle on the blessed Christmas tree! Christmas comes tomorrow.♪

(Cindy Lou-Who picks the wreath and looks through it)

Who Chorus: ♪Trim you, trim me!♪

(Cindy-Lou Who puts the wreath on a wall next to the window, and the camera zooms out showing more Whos on the outside.)

♪Trim up the tree with fuzzle fuzz, and whiffer bloofs, and wuzzle wuzz. Trim up your uncle and your aunt with yards of whofut flant!♪

(Camera flies up to the top of a mountain)

Act 1 Transcript Part 2 ("Tomorrow is Christmas, it's practically here!")[]

Narrator: Every Who down in Whoville liked Christmas a lot. But the Grinch,

(the camera shows the Grinch at the entrance of the mountain. He has a toothpick sticking out of his mouth.)

who lived just north of Whoville, did not! The Grinch hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season! Now, please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason. (Camera shows the Grinch's feet) It could be, perhaps, that (the Grinch pulls one end of the back of his shoe with his finger) his shoes were too tight.

(the camera shows the Grinch's head)

It could be his head (The Grinch turns his head around with his hand) wasn't screwed on right.

(Camera slowly zooms in on the Grinch's chest)

But I think that the most likely reason of all,

(An X-ray slides over his chest revealing his small heart)

may have been that his heart was two sizes too small. But whatever the reason, his heart or his shoes,

(the camera focuses on the Grinch looking down at the town of Whoville)

he stood there on Christmas Eve, hating the Whos. Staring down from his cave with with a sour Grinchy frown,

(the camera follows Max happily walking right as he comes out from the cave and watches Whoville from above)

at the warm lighted windows below in their town, for he knew every Who down in Whoville beneath was busy now, hanging a mistletoe wreath.

Grinch: (Picks up Max from his collar) And they're hanging their stockings! (Shakes Max)

Narrator: He snarled with a sneer.

Grinch: Tomorrow is Christmas! It's practically here!

Narrator: Then he growled with his (The Grinch drums his fingers on Max's head) Grinch fingers nervously drumming...

Grinch: I must find some way to keep Christmas from coming!

(the camera fades to the Whos cheering as they run downstairs)

Grinch (Off-screen): For tomorrow I know all the Who girls and boys will wake bright and early. They'll rush for their toys! And then, oh the noise! Oh, the noise! Noise! Noise! Noise!

(A Who walks up the stairs towards the screen, drumming)

There's one thing I hate!

(the camera fades back with the Grinch on screen as two drum sticks appear)

Grinch (On-screen): Oh, the noise! Noise! Noise! Noise!

(The drum sticks fade away, and he opens his eyes. Then his eye pupils spin round and round very fast fading to the Whos riding on a train, still playing with their toys.)

And they'll shriek squeaks and squeals,

Grinch (Off-screen): racing 'round on their wheels.

(We see a Who dancing with Jing-Tinglers)

They'll dance with jing-tinglers tied onto their heels.

(We see more Whos playing loud instruments)

They'll blow their floofloovers. They'll bang their tartookas. They'll blow their whohoopers. They'll bang their gardookas. They'll spin their trumtookas. They'll slam their slooslunkas. They'll beat their blumbloopas. They'll wham their whowonkas.

(A blue ball flies into a yellow-trumpet-like tube, and rolls out.)

And they'll play noisy games like zoozittacarzay [zoo-zit-ti-car-zay], A roller-skate type of lacrosse and croquet!

(A Who on a roller skates launches the ball into the tube with a mallet)

And then they'll make ear-splitting noises, galooks on their great big electro who-carnio flooks!

(The camera then fades to the Whos sitting at a long giant table)

Then the whos, young and old, would sit down to a feast. And they'd feast! And they'd feast! And they'd feast, feast, feast, feast!

(Camera focuses on a chef wheeling in the Who-Pudding, which almost looks like a layered cake.)

They would feast on Who-pudding,

(Camera focuses on another chef wheeling in the Roast Beast)

Rare Who-roast-beast, Roar roast-beast is a feast I can't stand in the least!

(A chef walks up the the table and puts down a platter and opens it, then a smaller chef walks on the table and puts down a platter and opens it, then a smaller chef walks on the table and puts down a platter and opens it, until the last chef walk up to Cindy Lou Who at the edge of the table and puts down his platter and opens it revealing an Strawberry. Then Cindy Lou holds it in her hands.)

(The strawberry shrinks and reveals the Grinch's eye pupil)

Act 1 Transcript Part 3 ("Welcome Christmas (Reprise 1)")[]

Grinch (On-screen): And then, they'll do something I hate most of all!

(Camera fades to the town square where all the Whos gather around the Christmas tree and hold hands)

Grinch (Off-screen): Every Who down in Whoville, the tall and the small, would stand close to together, with Christmas bells ringing. They'd stand hand-in-hand, and the Whos would start singing!

(the camera shows the Whos' hands ringing the bells, then cuts back the Whos as they start singing. Cindy-Lou Who doesn't sing, but she does enjoy the music as she is swayed back and forth.)

Who Chorus: ♪Fahoo forays, dahoo dorays. Welcome Christmas! Come this way. Fahoo forays, dahoo dorays. Welcome Christmas, Christmas Day.♪

(Camera flies to the right as the Whos still sing)

♪Welcome, welcome, fahoo ramus. Welcome, welcome, dahoo damus.♪

(Camera zooms out as the Whos still dance and sing around the Christmas tree)

♪Christmas Day is in our grasp, so long as we have hands to clasp.♪

(The Whos' singing fades as the screen fades to Max, enjoying the music down below.)

Grinch: (Turns to Max and leans his face closer to him as Max walks backwards in fear) And they'll sing! And they'll sing! And they'll sing! Sing! Sing! Sing!

Act 1 Transcript Part 4 ("You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch (Part 1)")[]

(The Grinch faces the screen scowling)

Narrator: And the more the Grinch thought of this Who-Christmas-Sing, the more the Grinch thought...

(As the Grinch talks, Max backs away as the Grinch walks until Max touches the wall and gets covered in snow.)

Grinch: I must stop this whole thing! Why, for 53 years, I've put up with it now! I must stop this Christmas from coming! But how?

(Max pops out of the snow with snow on his ears and chin, forming a Santa beard and hat.)

Narrator: And then, he got an idea! An awful idea!

(The Grinch looks at the screen, performing his iconic smile.)

The Grinch got a wonderful, awful idea!

(The Grinch grabs Max by the tail and pulls him out the snow wall as he walks back into his cave.)

Grinch: I know just what to do!

Narrator: The Grinch laughed in his throat.

(Grinch cuts out a hat outline from a red sheet with scissors)

And he made a quick Santy Claus hat and a coat! And he chuckled clucked...

Grinch: What a great Grinch-y trick! With this coat, and this hat, (Cuts out a shirt outline from the same red sheet with scissors) I'll look just like Saint Nick! (Pulls Max away by the leg)

(Camera fades showing Max holding a pincushion as the Grinch stitches the sleeves)

Thurl Ravenscroft (Voice-over): ♪You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch. You really are a heel.♪

(Max tilts back, but the Grinch pulls him back up.)

♪You're as cuddly as a cactus. You're as charming as an eel, Mr. Grinch!♪

(Screen fades to black, then to Max pushing the pedals of the sewing machine.)

♪You're a bad banana with a... greasy black peel!♪

(Camera shows the Grinch's hands as he pushes the cloth to the right, until the thread gets replaced with Max's tail which gets stitched into the Santa coat.)

♪You're a monster, Mr. Grinch.♪

(Max sticks his head out of a pillow with cotton in his mouth)

♪Your heart's an empty hole.♪

(Grinch swipes the cotton and stitches it into the hat)

♪Your brain is full of spiders. You've got garlic in your soul, Mr. Grinch!♪

(Camera fades to black, then cuts from black revealing Max holding a mirror with his teeth. The Grinch is looking into the mirror fully dressed while adjusting his hat.)

I wouldn't touch you with a...

(Max tilts, and the Grinch pulls the mirror back.)

♪thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole!♪♪

Act 1 Transcript Part 5 (Loading up the Sleigh)[]

Grinch: All I need is a reindeer! (Grinch looks to the right)

Narrator: The Grinch looked around.

(Camera flies to the right where there is a plaque with two reindeer horns)

But, since reindeer are scarce, there was none to be found. Did that stop the old Grinch?

(We cut to the Grinch smiling with his hands on his hips)

Ha! The Grinch simply said...

Grinch: If I can't find a reindeer, I'll make one instead!

(Max hides under the Grinch's bed, but the Grinch pulls him out from underneath and drags him across the floor.)

Narrator: So he took his dog Max. Then he took some black thread, and he tied a big horn on top of his head.

(Grinch looks satisfied, but then is surprised. Max's head and front legs lean forward until it touches the ground, causing the Grinch to get out a saw, and saws 3 little pieces of the horn. Max's back legs then touch the ground, and Max faces the screen. The screen fades to outside and the camera follows the Grinch walking right with a pile of empty bags to load onto his sled.)

Then he loaded some bags and some old empty sacks on a ramshackle sleigh, and he whistled for Max.

(The Grinch sticks two fingers into his mouth and whistles for Max, who happily jumps onto the sled all happy getting ready to ride it.)

(The Grinch however looks at the screen looking confused, and the top of his Santa hat tilts. Then he straightens it, walks up towards Max on the sled, and picks him up, places him down in the front, and ties his collar with a rope.)

Then the Grinch said...

Grinch: Giddy up! (Whips Max)

Max (In Pain): YIPE! (Slides down against a wall of snow)

Narrator: And the sleigh started down toward the homes where the Whos lay a-snooze in their town.

(Max reaches the ground and looks up while lying down. In the final shot, the Grinch sticks his head from the front of the sled while angrily looking down, and the screen fades to black, going to commercial.)

Act 2 Transcript Part 1 (Sleigh Ride)[]

(Screen fades from black revealing the Grinch's angry face getting closer to the screen as the sled leans towards the edge and starts to slide down the mountain, causing Max to run away from the sled, while also pulling it at the same time.)

(Max runs and the sled is over him, the Grinch looks down and under the sled, but only sees the rope)

(The Grinch then looks behind him and sees Max shrugging his shoulders, then waves, and the Grinch yanks him off with the rope and Max looks down at the cliff which the two fly over.)

(Max then cartwheels and runs again, then makes a left, nearly missing the edge. Then the sled shreds up a ramp-like slope.)

(In mid-air, Max waves at the Grinch and then clings onto the Grinch's face as they both land back in the snow, then the Grinch struggles to get Max off of him and throws him back to the front as the screen fades to reveal Whoville as the sled enters the town square.)

Act 2 Transcript Part 2[]

Narrator: All their windows were dark. No one knew he was there.

(Camera fades to the Grinch sneaking across the screen with the bags, while Max carries an orange ladder.)

All the Whos were all dreaming sweet dreams without care, when he came to the first little house on the square.

Grinch: This is stop number one!

Narrator: The old Grinch-y Claus hissed.

(Max runs behind the Grinch and sets the ladder up, with Max standing behind the ladder as The Grinch walks up the steps.)

And he climbed to the roof, empty bags in his fist.

(We cut to the Grinch's upper torso sticking out of the chimney as he faces the screen. He raises his eyebrows and slides down. Inside the chimney, the Grinch climbs down with his feet as the camera slowly follows him downward.)

Then he slid down the chimney, a rather tight pinch. But if Santa could do it, then so could the Grinch.

(The Grinch head ends up close to his knees, but gets his head back up.)

He got stuck only once, for a minute or two,

(The Grinch's eyes are revealed in the dark fireplace, until he sticks his whole body from out of the darkness.)

then he stuck his head out of the fireplace flue where the little Who stockings all hung in a row.

Grinch: These stockings,

Narrator: He grinned.

Grinch: are the first things to go! (Gets out a magnet, and magnetizes each nail from the wall.)

(Each stocking drops into his bag, and in the next shot, the Grinch slithers across the floor like a snake until he reach the Christmas Tree.)

Narrator: Then he slithered and slunk, with a smile most unpleasant, (The Grinch slithers into the Christmas tree) around the whole room, and he took every present!

(The Grinch's hands pop out from the tree and swipe every item the narrator mentions)

Pop guns! pampoonas, pantookas and Drums! Checkerboards! bizzel-binks! Popcorn! And plums!

(Screen cuts to Max looking at the window, then facing the screen.)

And he stuffed them in bags. Then the Grinch, very nimbly,

(Bags fly up through the chimney and land on the roof)

stuffed all the bags, one by one, up the chimney!

(Grinch pops up from the chimney and whistles for Max, then pushes the bags off the roof.)

[SLIDE!]

(Max catches the falling bags, but they actually crush him.)

[SMASH!]

Act 2 Transcript Part 3 ("You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch (Part 2)")[]

Thurl Ravenscroft (Voice-over): ♪You're a vile one, Mr. Grinch. You have termites in your smile.♪

(The Grinch takes out a blue cane)

♪You have all the tender sweetness of a seasick crocodile, Mr. Grinch!♪

Given the choice between the two of you,

(The Grinch uses the cane as a pool cue and hits the ornament)

I'd take the um...

(The ornament bounces up and knocks each ornament off the tree as the camera slowly pans up)

♪seasick crocodile!♪

(Christmas ornaments roll into a mouse hole and roll through the pipe and enter the bag, then in another shot, Max carries the bags to the sled. The screen fades to show a fire truck, then the camera flies up revealing the Grinch removing the star on top.)

♪You're a rotter, Mr. Grinch. You're the king of sinful sots!♪

(The Grinch rolls up the rug with the presents)

♪Your heart's a dead tomato splotched with moldy purple spots, Mr. Grinch!♪

(The Grinch tosses the rug through the chimney and the camera zooms in on Max from the sky's view. The rolled up rug crushes Max and the star sticks up on top as his sparkles.)

♪You're a three decker sauerkraut and toadstool sandwich with arsenic sauce!♪♪

(Max walks up to the sled blindly and topples onto the back of it and gets out of the rolled up rug)

Act 2 Transcript Part 4[]

(Screen fades to reveal Cindy-Lou Who and three Who children sleeping in bed while holding long candy canes. The Grinch's shadow walks by the yellow bedsheet, and we cut to the Grinch evilly smiling. The Grinch reveals his teeth while smiling and hides under the bedpost.)

(The Grinch's hand slides each candy cane out of each of the Who's hands from right to left, with Cindy-Lou being the last one.)

(In the next shot, the camera follows the Grinch running left out the doorway and across the hall.)

(The screen fades to the next shot where the Grinch sneaks into the kitchen, with the four candy canes now in bags.)

Narrator: Then he slunk to the icebox. He took the Whos' feast!

(The Grinch throws the food out from the fridge and into the bags)

He took the Who-pudding!

(The Grinch holds the plate of roast beast and raises his eyebrows twice at the screen)

He took the roast beast!

(Screen cuts to the cans flying into an open bag)

He cleaned out that icebox as quick as a flash.

(Screen cuts back to the Grinch. In his hands is a can of Who-Hash.)

Why, that Grinch even took their last can of Who-hash!

(Footage of the bags getting thrown up the chimney and landing on the roof is reused)

Then he stuffed all the food up the chimney with glee.

Grinch: Now...

Narrator: Grinned the Grinch.

Grinch: I'll stuff up the tree!

(The Grinch lift the tree, but one ornament falls off and rolls into Cindy-Lou Who's bedroom. Cindy-Lou wakes up and she sees it. Then we cut back to the Grinch as he tries stuffing the tree into the fireplace.)

Narrator: As the Grinch grabbed the tree, and he started to shove,

(Cindy-Lou Who's yawn can be heard in the background, catching the Grinch's attention.)

when he heard a small sound like the coo of a dove. He turned around fast, and he saw a small Who!

(Cindy-Lou Who enters the room with the ornament in her hands)

Little Cindy-Lou Who, who was no more than two. She stared at the Grinch and said...

Cindy-Lou Who: Santy Claus, why? Why are you taking our Christmas tree? Why?

(The Grinch bites his fingers in fear)

Narrator: But, you know, that old Grinch was so smart and so slick,

(The Grinch gets an idea and his hat springs up)

he thought up a lie, and he thought it up quick!

Grinch: Why, my sweet little tot,

Narrator: The fake Santy Claus lied,

Grinch: There's a light on this tree that... won't light on one side. So I'm taking it home to my workshop, my dear. I'll fix it up there, then I'll bring it back here.

Narrator: And his fib fooled the child. Then he patted her head, and he got her a drink and he sent her to bed.

(Cindy-Lou Who walks back to her bedroom, now holding a cup of water in her opposite hand.)

And when Cindy-Lou Who went to bed with her cup, he crupt to the chimney...

(The Grinch runs back to the fireplace and successfully pushes the tree up the chimney flue)

and stuffed the tree up!

(The Grinch enters the flue next, with his hands taking the log.)

Then he went up the chimney, himself, the old liar. And the last thing he took was the log for their fire. On their walls he left nothing but hooks, and some wire. And the one speck of food that he left in the house

(Camera focuses on the crumb, and a mouse walks up to it.)

was a crumb that was even too small for a mouse.

(The Grinch's hand takes the little crumb with his fingers, and the screen fades showing the Grinch climbing across the wreaths as he enters the second house's window on the left.)

Then, he did the same thing to the other Whos' houses, leaving crumbs much too small for the other Whos' mouses.

(Four wreaths drop onto Max and his eyes blink three times from inside)

Act 2 Transcript Part 5 ("You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch (Part 3)")[]

(Footage of the Grinch sneaking into the kitchen is reused as the final part of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" starts playing)

Thurl Ravenscroft (Voice-over): ♪You nauseate me, Mr. Grinch,♪

(Grinch winds up each wind-up toy and they march into a bag)

♪with a nauseous super "naus"! You're a crooked dirty jockey and you drive a crooked horse, Mr. Grinch!♪

(Recycled animations of The Grinch stealing is shown)

Your soul is an appalling dump heap

(Grinch's shadow swings over to another rooftop)

overflowing with the most disgraceful assortment of deplorable rubbish imaginable!

(Grinch's recycled chimney animation is used)

mangled up

♪in tangled up knots!♪

(The Grinch sets the train tracks into an empty bag, the with train riding into the bag.)

♪You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch.♪

(Grinch dumps a box of chocolates into a bag)

♪You're a nasty-wasty skunk.♪

(The Grinch rips a roll of film out of camera and stuffs it in a sack)

♪Your heart is full of unwashed socks.♪

(Grinch licks his hand and unscrews a lightbulb)

♪Your soul is full of gunk, Mr. Grinch!♪

(Grinch opens the ice tray and ice cubes into a bag)

The three words that best describe you are as follows, and I quote,

(Grinch rips petals off)

[Trumpet blare]

(During the ending orchestration, the Grinch closes the Christmas tree like an umbrella.)

Act 2 Transcript Part 6[]

Narrator: It was a quarter of dawn...

(Grinch sneaks across)

all the Whos, still a-bed, all the Whos, still a-snooze when he packed up his sled, packed it up with their presents! Their ribbons! their snoof and their fuzzels, their tringlers and trappings!

(Grinch whips Max and he yelps. As Max runs for his life, the Grinch keeps whipping him, even while he is buried deep in the snow.)

ten thousand [10,000] feet up! Up the side of Mt. Crumpit, he rode with his load to the tiptop to dump it.

(Max's horn is visible as he burrows through the snow, and The Grinch keeps whipping Max until they reach the top, where an ornament falls to the music.)

(Then Suddenly, Max swings across to the Grinch and is left hanging from the rope tied to his leash.)

Grinch (While sliding down the bags): Pooh-pooh to the Whos!

Narrator: He was grinch-ily humming.

Grinch: They're finding out now that no Christmas is coming! They're just waking up, I know just what they'll do! Their mouths will hang open a minute or two, then all the Whos down in Whoville will all cry "boo-hoo"! (Runs to the edge of the cliff) That's a noise,

Narrator: Grinned the Grinch...

Grinch: That I simply must hear!

Act 2 Transcript Part 7 ("Welcome Christmas (Reprise 2)")[]

Narrator: So he paused. And the Grinch put his hand up to his ear. And he did hear a sound rising over the snow.

(Camera slowly flies down and stops when we see the town of Whoville)

It started in low. Then it started to grow.

(The sun rises and the Whos gather around a bright light in the square standing hand in hand, happily singing.)

Who chorus: ♪Fahoo forays, dahoo dorays. Welcome Christmas! Come this way. Fahoo forays, dahoo dorays. Welcome Christmas, Christmas Day.♪

(Camera flies to the right as the Whos still sing)

♪Welcome, welcome, fahoo ramus. Welcome, welcome, dahoo damus.♪

(Camera zooms out as the Whos still dance and sing around the Christmas tree)

♪Christmas Day is in our grasp, so long as we have hands to clasp.♪

(Screen cuts back to the Grinch listening in shock)

Narrator: But the sound wasn't sad! Why, this sound sounded glad!

(Cutting back to the Whos, the light surrounding them rises.)

Every Who down in Whoville, the tall and the small, was singing! Without any presents at all! He hadn't stopped Christmas from coming! It came! Somehow or other, it came just the same!

(Screen cuts back to the Grinch facing the screen angrily. The camera pulls away from him, revealing Max dangling.)

And the Grinch, with his Grinch feet ice-cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling.

Grinch (Mad): How could it be so? (Grabs Max's wrist and yanks him to his eye-level) It came without ribbons! (Looks at Whoville, then pulls Max back down.) It came without tags! (Looks at Whoville, then pulls Max back down.) It came without packages, boxes, or bags!

Narrator: And he puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore.

(The Grinch's eyebrows then reverts from anger to sad)

Then, the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before.

Grinch: (Starts feeling glad and kindly) Maybe Christmas...

Narrator: He thought.

Grinch (Gladly): Doesn't... come from a store. Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more!

(The Grinch releases Max's arm and softy lights in happiness)

Act 2 Transcript Part 8 (Ending)[]

(The weight of the sleigh starts to sink, but the Grinch can only look in horror as he watches the sled in shock. The Grinch runs up to Max and grabs him, and starts to pull, until Max slides out of his leash leaving them with their legs sticking out of the snow bank.)

(The Grinch and Max stick their heads out of the snow, As the sleigh starts to sing once again and they rush over to the sled. In the process, the Grinch dives forward and grabs onto one part of the sled, and Max pulls the Grinch as he bites the jacket with his teeth.)

(The camera pulls away from Mt. Crumpit and we cut to the Grinch struggling as he is slowly dragged down the hill, just as they we're about to fall off the hill, something amazing happened)

Narrator: And what happened then? Well, in Whoville they say,

(X-ray slides over the Grinch's heart, and it grows 3 times the size until it breaks the X-ray)

that the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day.

(After the heart breaks the X-Ray open, the Grinch smiles at the screen)

And then, the true meaning of Christmas came through.

(The Grinch lifts the sled with his strength in front of the rising sun)

And the Grinch found the strength of ten Grinches, plus two!

(A fanfare is heard as the Grinch shines on the top of the mountain, then in the next camera shot, the Grinch stands on the sled blowing a trumpet.)

And the minute his heart didn't feel quite so tight, he whizzed with his load through the bright morning light. With a smile in his soul, he descended Mt. Crumpet, cheerily blowing "Who! Who!" on his trumpet.

(The Grinch blows his trumpet and he, Max, and the sled enter the town square, and the Whos cheer. In the next shot, the Christmas decorations and the star are thrown back onto the Christmas tree in the middle of town. Afterwards, we see Max throwing toys and food out of the sacks.)

He rode into Who-ville, he brought back their toys. He brought back their floof to the Who girls and boys. He brought back their snoof and their tringlers and fuzzels. He brought back their pantookas, their dafflers and wuzzels. He brought everything back, all the food for the feast.

(Screen fades into the dining room where the Grinch cuts off a piece the roast beast)

And he, he himself, the Grinch carved the roast beast!

(Cindy-Lou Who hands a slice of the roast beast to Max and pats his head)

Welcome Christmas. Bring your cheer, cheer to all Whos, far and near. Christmas Day is in our grasp, so long as we have hands to clasp.

(Camera starts zooming out of the dining room with the Whos enjoying their roast beast)

Christmas Day will always be, just as long as we have we.

(Camera fades outside and zooms out from a window)

Welcome Christmas while we stand, heart to heart and hand in hand.

(The footage of the screen flying up to Mt. Crumpit is reused, this time, with the screen flying up to the sky as it snows. The subtitle, "THE END" fades into the middle of the screen, until the screen fades to black.)
