Guy-Am-I

Guy-Am-I, is a grumpy old man who does not like Green Eggs and Ham until the end of the story. He also serves as the deuteragonist in the book Green Eggs and Ham. His name wasn't mentioned until the Netflix series; he was called "Grouchy Guy" or "Sam's Friend".

Book and TV Special
In the book Green Eggs and Ham and the eponymous cartoon adaptation from Dr. Seuss on the Loose, Sam-I-Am tries to force Guy-Am-I to eat the strange-looking dish mentioned in the title, but Guy-Am-I tells him he doesn't like that food and tries to get away by saying, "I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-Am." Guy Am I continues to repeat that as Sam-I-am persistently follows him. At the end, Guy-Am-I finally gives in and agrees to try Green Eggs and Ham. After sampling the dish, he realizes that it is quite tasty and thanks Sam-I-Am for letting him try it, and he learned his lesson: it is important to try something new, whether it is food or anything else, even if it does not seem appealing at first.
Netflix Series
Guy-Am-I is a failed inventor whose inventions always explode. He meets Sam at Donna's Diner, and accidentally switches his briefcase with the Self Flyer and Sam's briefcase with Mr. Jenkins. They begin traveling together and form a friendship, until Guy discovers that Sam is a con artist, making Guy get angry with him and even say that he does not fit anyone, not even his own mother. This line makes Sam upset with Guy, until the latter decides to eat Green Eggs and Ham by his own volition to show how much he cares for Sam. Like in the book and special, Guy ends up loving the dish, and says that he will eat with all the animals and in all the locations he has been offerred throughout the series.
