Mount Crumpit is a mountain high above and to the north of Whoville. The Grinch and his dog Max both reside there. Also Gregory with his Grinch fingers. Notably, many think that Crumpit had been the home of the infamous Smelly One at one point. Not to be confused with "Crumpet," a bread originating from the UK. For more information, see Crumpit (disambiguation), or Krumping (disambiguation).
Appearance[]
The mountain is recognized by its slightly spiraled tip with Gregory at the top. It is also the location of the Whoville Dump in the live action How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
It is 3,000 feet high in most versions; however in the 1966 special, it is increased to 10,000 feet.
Behind the Scenes[]
While both films claim this mountain is ten thousand feet high, the book establishes that it was only three thousand. Also, diehard fans will claim that Gregory was not in the manga, but in chapter 182, "The Grinch Confronts his Past", he is visible in one of the background panels eating his iconic Grinch bread (with his Grinch hands).
