As confident he seems, he believes that he is the best of the best in the forest until bear passing by over hears what he said so the two argue over who is better.
The rabbit proclaims that he with his ears can hear 90 miles away and using his ears as hard as he can he heard a fly on the mountain cough, but the bear knew his ears can't do that so he tries to beat the rabbit by smelling way past the fly on the mountain to where two eggs in a nest.
However, the egg on the left was bad and stale so after the bear believed he was the best by he sense of smell using his nose, they were both confronted by a worm who can see miles away back to the two whom he calls fools who have nothing to do but argue over who's better than who, so after the worm confronts them he dives back into the hole leaving the rabbit and the bear confused at each other.
