For I am a Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz, as you can plainly see.
The Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz is a strange creature in the forest who narrates Dr. Seuss's ABC whom Ichabod and Izzy meet at the end of the book. He tells the viewers in the book/video/Living Books version that he begins with the letter "Z" as everyone can plainly see. In the video, he is voiced by Jim Thurman. (In the last page --on the Beginner Book Video version of the said book-- he narrates the line, "I do! I am a Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz, as you can plainly see".)
In the Living Books version of this book, they believe he has escaped from the zoo. He can play jazz on the zither and loves to eat Zizzer-Zoof seeds (which are mentioned in Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book). (Like in the book and Beginner Book Video version, his narration line remains the same. That is, as he says his narration rhyme --on the page-- "I do! I am a Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz, as you can plainly see".)
The Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz has nine "Z's" in his name. In the Living Book version, Izzy (after hearing the Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz has nine "Z's" in his name) reveals that she has two "Z's". Ichabod tries to look for "Z's" in his name, but finds zero. He says, "Ichabod has zero 'Z's'", but he realizes that most people (or in this case, some people and other Dr. Seuss creatures) are born with no (zero) "Z's" in their names. So Ichabod is indeed one of them. So it is not the person/Dr. Seuss creature (when born) who gets a choice of whether they want to choose to have "Z's". It is if they are born with any "Z's". It is dependent with their given name when they are born. So Ichabod was born without any "Z's" in his name, but can accept that.
